What is the REAL purpose of follow-up?

Not everyone may be ready to purchase your products or services straight away. But that doesn't mean that they won't.

Follow ups will help keep your name fresh in your contacts' mind until they are ready to buy.

When should your first follow up message go out?

Immediately! If you get a hold of a lead through your website, if you purchased your lead, if you met or spoke to the prospect on the phone, make sure they receive an email from you straight away. Don't give them time to forget about you. You should start building that relationship straight away.

How frequently should you follow up with your contacts?

When you first start marketing to a lead or customer, it's ok to send them several emails. Remember, on average, a person needs to see your message at least five times before they consider acting on your offer. You should follow up regularly in the first year and then less frequently thereafter.

How long should you follow up?

Indefinetly. You should set up a system to perform this task simply. You should always keep in touch with your customers or prospect. You never know when a prospect is ready to buy or an existing customer is ready to buy again.

You should take time to consistantly follow up all your prospects and customers. If you do, you will definetly increase your sales.
