What should you put in your CV Title?
Some of you may be wondering what is a CV Title and where it goes. infact, some of you probably never heard of such a thing.
There are two types of CVs that has to be considered in this topic. A "hard copy" (i.e. paper based) CV and a "soft copy" (file/online) CV.
CVs that are printed on paper do not have a "CV Title". They basically start with the person's name.
However, CVs that are saved in an electronic file or uploaded online requires a CV Title.
CV Titles allow their owners to differentiate their CV(s), can be used to show what is in contents of the CV and is the first thing that employers/recruiters will see when they do a CV search.
The best way to title your CV is to use relevant keywords. You could use your desired job title or your key experiences and qualifications. Don't just put "My CV" or your name.
Use, for example: "Marketing Executive", "John Doe - Marketing Executive", etc.
If you want to keep your CV private, make sure not to include your name in the CV title.
Apart from being the first thing that recruiters see, CV Titles are also used in some CV search algorithms as a factor in returning a search result too!
