Serving the oil and gas, renewable, telecoms and military markets, they manufacture a variety of bespoke subsea equipment. An opportunity has now arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. This is the ideal role for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a good degree (or equivalent) to develop their career with the North East's fastest growing company. As a Mechanical Design Engineer you'll be responsible for producing practical new designs to tight timescales. Specifically, your duties will include: - Working within the company's ISO 9000:2000 quality system - Producing conceptual designs from process definitions - Producing instruction, operation and maintenance manuals and design reports - Conducting structural analysis using first principles and Ansys FEA firmware - Producing layout design of mechanical/hydraulic machinery - Checking other engineers' designs and calculations - Detail drawings - Assisting with on-site machine assembly To be considered for this position you must have: - Extensive mechanical design experience - A good degree (or equivalent) in mechanical engineering As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will also need a sound understanding of engineering principles, as well as a true enthusiasm for the discipline. In addition, you'll be a flexible team worker, with the ability to work to demanding project targets even when under pressure.
