Our client is a market leading manufacturer and supplier of specialist electrical and mechanical infrastructure equipment for the healthcare market with turnover of £10m. It also provides after sales service to its customers. Due to continued growth they are now looking to appoint an Operations Director / Managing Director Designate to manage the business on day to day basis.

Operations Director / Managing Director Designate - Engineering Industry Middlesex £60,000 - £70,000 DOE Our client is a market leading manufacturer and supplier of specialist electrical and mechanical infrastructure equipment for the healthcare market with turnover of £10m. It also provides after sales service to its customers. Due to continued growth they are now looking to appoint an Operations Director / Managing Director Designate to manage the business on day to day basis. In this senior, high profile role, you will be responsible for overseeing the running of business units with the aim of leading, managing and integrating them to ensure our client becomes a world class player. You will also ensure the business is positioned to maximise growth opportunities, and that all operational costs are managed within agreed budgets. As the Operations Director / Managing Director Designate your main responsibilities will include: - driving and implementing the strategic direction of the business in conjunction with the board - overseeing operations to ensure efficiency, quality, service and effective management of resources - improving financial performance, ensuring each business meets financial objectives - ensuring senior management are fully coached and succession planning is implemented within each unit - ensuring world class training skills are utilised throughout the business To be considered for this position, you will have extensive experience at Managing Director, General Manager or Operations Director level. You will also need to demonstrate exposure to high-level negotiations and experience of developing financial plans and forecasts. As the Operations Director / Managing Director Designate you must also have the credibility and confidence to drive company culture and create a work environment in which employees feel comfortable in taking risks to enable the business to meet its targets. Whilst not essential, the ideal candidate will come from an engineering background, preferably the service, electrical, M&E sector, or from a manufacturing environment involved in the production of bespoke electrical or mechanical products.
