Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical & Electrical) - Precision Presswork
Birmingham
c£25,000 Plus Monthly Profit-Related Bonus, Pension
As one of Europe's largest contract presswork companies, our client is reputable for manufacturing precision metal components for customers around the world. They are now looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer to join their team.
For this role our client is looking to recruit someone with a good mechanical and electrical maintenance background, to take responsibility for providing a professional, efficient and cost-effective maintenance service to the business.
This will involve ensuring all service schedules are adhered to, any ad-hoc machinery malfunctions and breakdowns are minimised, and all factory improvements are implemented. For the right person, this position offers excellent scope for development.
As a Maintenance Engineer your duties will include:
- Management of contractors for strategic factory improvements
- Repairing and, where required, overhauling presses and machine tools
- Managing and implementing all press and machine tools preventative maintenance schedules
- Machine breakdown duties - electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, servo motors etc
- Designing and building control panels and equipment
- Utilising spreadsheets and reports covering energy management, project management and Health, Safety and Environmental issues
To be considered for this position you must have:
- A mechanical and electrical maintenance background (it is essential that you have experience in both)
- An electrical qualification - including 17th edition regulations
- Knowledge of presses and machine tools
- Pneumatic and hydraulic experience
As a Maintenance Engineer you should also have excellent interpersonal skills, a good level of computer literacy and a flexible attitude. You must also have the ability to prioritise and manage your own workload.
