Our
client is an innovative ICT provider specialising in the design, delivery and
ongoing support of IT and communications solutions. Working with both the
private and public sector, they offer a variety of strategically linked
services. An opportunity has now arisen for a Cisco Network Engineer to join
their team.
This is the ideal role for a CCNA qualified candidate with
experience in a Cisco networking role, looking to further develop their career
with a dynamic and growing company. For the right person, this role offers
support to obtain further Cisco accreditations.
As a Cisco Network
Engineer you will be responsible for providing technical expertise in order to
design, build, test, install and operate the company's Cisco-based network
solutions.
Working with clients throughout the South East, your focus
will be on providing technical input during the pre-sales process, design and
solutions specification, implementation and post-sales stages. This will involve
attending client meetings with sales personnel.
The network solutions
you'll work on include voice and conferencing, network security and
surveillance, network storage, wireless networks, routers and switches.
Solutions consist of a mixture of products, professional services, support and
managed services.
This is a client-facing role, in which your duties will
include:
- providing articulate solutions and assisting with pre-sales
functions
- attending external meetings to help qualify projects
-
determining requirements and presenting customer solutions
- implementing
and supporting solutions based on industry best practice and Cisco
guidelines
To be considered for this position, you must have experience
in a commercial customer-facing Cisco network role. You must also have:
- a CCNA qualification
- experience of designing, installing and
supporting Cisco-based network solutions
- familiarity with some of the
following: Cisco IOS, Pix, UC500, Cisco Call Manager (CCM), Cisco Call Manager
Express (CCME), Unity, Unity Express, Meeting Place
- expertise with: LAN,
WAN, VPN, Cisco, routers & switches, Wireless, VoIP, IP Telephony, DSL &
ISDN monitoring and management
Additionally, as the Cisco Network
Engineer you should be an excellent communicator with a fantastic telephone
manner, good presentation skills and attention to detail.
Whilst not
essential, any of the following accreditations would be beneficial to your
application: CCDA, CCDP, CCNP and/or CCVP.
