Operations Manager - Manufacturing/Production Maiden Newton, Dorset Up to £50,000 plus Car, BUPA (after 3 years), Shares, Pension Our client, a leading manufacturer and supplier of interior surfaces, prides themselves on creating safe and hygienic environments without compromising flair or function. They now seek to recruit an Operations Manager to lead their team in Dorset. The role of Operations Manager demands a candidate with management level experience in manufacturing but also a true business mind with a clear commercial focus. With overall responsibility for the manufacturing operation of the site, the Operations Manager will be required to perform a variety of functions, including the following: - Implementing best practice into the manufacturing function - Ensuring manufacturing targets are achieved to the highest levels of quality and cost-effectiveness - Continuously seeking to improve operational practices - Building a customer-focused ethos - Providing effective leadership to all teams across all resins sites - Ensuring that staff members receive the personal development and training required - Monitoring and improving manufacturing costs. - Ensuring all health, safety and environmental objectives are fulfilled including risk assessments, SOP and audits - Introducing sales forecasting and planning To be considered for the position of Operations Manager, the candidate will need to demonstrate management-level experience within a manufacturing environment, along with good knowledge of health, safety and environment legislation. It is also critical that the Operations Manager has a broader commercial awareness with the ability to lead a small sales office team and to interface with both internal and external customers. Applicants will also be expected to hold strong communication and influencing ability, as well as good coaching skills, an approach based on continuous improvement and a self-starting nature which helps you to lead by example. It is also necessary for candidates to live within a commutable distance of our client's Maiden Newton site, or be willing to relocate.
