Our client is one of
the world's leading producers of emission and ride control products for the
automotive industry. Using a combination of leading-edge technology and
manufacturing expertise, they are committed to making transportation cleaner,
quieter, smoother and safer. An opportunity has arisen for a New Products
Engineer to join their team.
This is the ideal role for a project manager
with experience of new product introduction and APQP to join a leading, global
company.
As the New Products Engineer, you will be responsible for
leading and implementing new model programmes from the industrialisation phase
through to production.
Supporting the customer team, you will be capable
of managing multi-programme projects to meet the timeline demands of the
customer. Using the latest APQP and Microsoft Project software to control the
programmes, you will be tasked with liaising between our client and their
customers.
Your duties will include:
- Leading the project team in
the industrialisation of the new products
- Defining and recommending a
manufacturing strategy, capital and tooling requirements for new programmes.
- Visiting suppliers, customers and the customer team
- Liaising between
customer engineering, resident engineers and our internal European launch
team.
To be considered for the role of New Products Engineer you will
need:
- Experience of new product introduction project management within
the automotive industry
- Experience of APQP (Advanced Product Quality
Planning)
- An awareness of TS quality management systems
You will
have excellent communication, analytical and problem solving skills as well as
being a good team player. Also necessary, is your ability to multi-task in a
fast paced environment and your strong IT skills.
Although not essential,
the ideal candidate will have some or all of the following:
- Knowledge
of SAP
- Experience of managing within a team environment
- Experience of
manufacturing automotive parts requiring welding, pipe manipulation, and
mechanical fabrication
- A degree or equivalent in a manufacturing related
discipline
- A second language (preferably German)
