Are you a senior manager with an events, hotel and
hospitality industry background? If so, our client is looking for you to run
their brand new events venue based in Cranford.
This exciting opportunity would suit a confident, self starter with
experience in running successful multi functional events venues. Equally as
important is an entrepreneurial spirit and strong leadership skills.
As
a General Manager you will be responsible for managing the company's new events
venue. This will involve overseeing all aspects of setting up systems and
processes in time for its opening, as well as the day to day running of the
business - from finance and recruitment to risk assessments and marketing.
The high spec, events venue will hold a variety of events, from
Christmas parties and weddings, to receptions and banquets. With a capacity for
800 people, guests will benefit from state of the art lighting, AV systems and
both contemporary and traditional interiors.
Your duties will
include:
- setting and agreeing profit and loss forecasts with board
directors, accounts and a team of direct reports
- ensuring all insurances,
licenses and other legal requirements are in place and are active
-
implementing and ensuring employment procedures and disciplinary issues are
adhered to
- motivating and training direct reports
- knowing what is
happening in the market, both locally and nationally
To be considered
for this position, you must have senior management experience, for example as a
hotel manager, and the following:
- a background in the events
industry
- experience in the hotel or hospitality industry
- people
management experience
As the General Manager you should also be
self-driven and results-orientated, with a clear focus on high quality and
business profit. You should also be a natural, creative visionary and a forward
planner, with excellent rapport building skills.
In addition to
exceptional communication skills, you will also need to be a strong leader who
is well presented and business like. Any wedding/reception experience would
prove beneficial to your application.
